If privacy is not stated anywhere in the Constitution or in the Bill of Rights, then the Penumbra should not be a "fuzzy part" but should be clearly stated.  Maybe something should be done to have more laws stating things relating to privacy issues.  False Light is another issue that should be less confusing.  If it is seen that courts usually find for the defendent, then there should be something more clearly stated about the issue. 

 I thought the quote by Brandeis was very interesting: "We have the right to be left alone".  If we live in a country with all this freedom, then how can't we have privacy laws?  Our rights should be taken more into account with issues like these.  With new technology still rising, our privacy rights are even lessened, especially with the Internet.  New laws then should be proposed for Internet use if they can't do anything else. 

Playboy has been a name that has been popular for over 50 years and
has been copyrighted for most of that time.  With the company being so
large in size, they are always finding ways to sue for people using
their name or pictures or anything else illegal under that copyright
law.  Smaller companies could be copyrighted too but not be as
financially stable to find people stealing their ideas or trademarks. 
So is it fair that Playboy is so large and can keep suing people all
the time?

I think in a way Playboy is a monopoly figure just like Microsoft was
considered to be.  Even though the pornography industry is so large
and still growing, Playboy still takes over.  So in a way, maybe
somebody should so something like the government to make it not as
possible for them to succeed over every other company. 

If links are usually between countries like New York or
Seattle, then how do people get so much access to pornography from other countries?  Shouldn’t it then make more sense that there were be better privacy laws and firewalls to see this from a country like China?  In addition,
China has such a good system of a firewall for pornography, so then why can’t our country come up with one similar?  These are all questions that need to be addressed as soon as possible.

In the case regarding Homolka and Bernardo, the gag laws would not allow
Canada to televise or release any information regarding the suit.  However, news coverage was going on in the
United States.  So what does that say about our country; that we cannot abide by the laws of a country that we are so close with?  

Maybe what I am trying to say is why the
United States is one of the most powerful countries, yet we cannot firewall pornography from the Internet?  It seems to me that other countries are trying to make more of an effort and succeeding in doing so for this major issue.  

There is so much debate already on how children come across pornography. However, we know that the Internet is a clear way in which to have access to it. Maybe if we can get a hold of more “decent” and softer porn, we can show younger kids that it is nothing to get too excited about.

Also, the fact that you say that a gay man is viewed as a clown, I totally disagree. There are many families that are based upon a gay relationship where the couple adopts children. Do you know all the facts if the children wind up any worse than if they were raised by a straight couple?

In a way this commercial relates to pornography, just not as graphic as some films or clips are.  A man is waiting in a bed and a girl comes up under the covers making it like she is going down on this person.  This gives such a negative image to anyone watching MTV, which are normally people of any age. 
Eden also states how this clip is being funded by people like us, who are taxpayers.  However, just like I do not agree with this commercial being shown, I am sure there are other people who would not like their young children to see this either. 

The fact that the amount of child pornography websites rising is a known thing to almost everyone in America that follows up with the news.  Most of us are aware, maybe not to the full extent, but aware that this is a major issue to be dealt with.  Senator Lincoln made a valid point that back in the day Main street, was the common place to be with much supervision and that people looked out for one another when there.  This should still be an ongoing process of communities helping one another.  However, times change and attitudes and issues back then are totally different today. 

Of course there should be more filters on the Internet for young children.  I was never aware that the most common age for a child to be looking for pornography was eleven years old.  Parents might not even be aware that their children could be spending up to $75 monthly to be subscribed to these websites. 

 One of the main objections I had towards this senator’s speech was her new Bill that she proposed.  She clearly stated that the burden of pouring more money into this issue should not be paid for by the average Americans.  However, I strongly disagree with this.  If we are the one’s who are also concerned with what is provided for our children then we should make the effort too.  Even if it is a little money from each person who can afford it.  The excise tax that she wanted to take the money from is taxed on people for a reason not only for pornography websites. 

Zoning laws cannot get rid of adult establishments they can only restrict them.  However, at a certain point, there can be too much of a restriction on where they can be placed because of complaints by neighboring people.  For example, a school I can see to be a place where you might not necessarily want one of these establishments, but a bar or pub is a different story.  I would consider a school to be much more significant than a bar. 

There are also “Adverse Secondary Effects” that make it so you cannot outlaw any of these establishments without negative evidence.  Through the first amendment, you can say anything and cannot restrict content.  In addition, you can outlaw speech but you can’t outlaw the outcome. 

One example of this was the non-porn obscenity issue with a music song back in the 1980’s.  When the jury had to read aloud the lyrics of the song being prosecuted, they laughed and dismissed the case.

 Sometimes the indecency level can go too far.  People think that they can change the law for their own interest when it is going against amendments.  There are many things supported by the first amendment like nude dancing and speech that people don’t agree with.  However, it is not their right to go against something that is written in stone. 

I am con Morgan's essay entitled "Theory and Practice: Pornography and Rape".  There are many arguments that I believe Morgan perceives falsely.  Firstly, I do not agree that mothers or people in general "pity" a rapist.  The men that commit these horiffic crimes are prosecuited to the full extent if found guilty of this crime.  In addition, Morgan says that women tend to place their concerns first and that this is considered to be selfish.  However, from what I have personally seen, judges do not doubt women or think that they have any lower place in society. 

Another argument that I do not agree on is that if a women is married and does not desire to have sex but does it anyway, that this would be considered rape.  The wife is not being physically or emotionally hurt, she could just not be in the mood to engage in intercourse.

A third and final argument I have against Morgan's essay about rape is that I believe that the percentage is true about the dramatic increase of rape among women in the 1960's, but I do think that there could be more reasons for this than just what she noted.  For example, there could have been something televised that encouraged more women to report a rape to the police, that they would be believed and not looked down upon for doing so.

I think pornogrpahy had a lot to do with rape, if a person copies acts not meant to be replicated.  However, men who rape people are not always poor and angry.  Morgan's essay was totally one-sided and made it seem like all men are the enemy.

On one hand, you are not in physical contact with that person over the computer.  There is no touching or fondling going on.  Also, you could not even know any facts about that person to make them important in your life; not knowing what they look like, their name or anything else about them.  However, this could make cybersex even worse.  How can somebody become aroused if they are not even in physical contact with them?

On the other hand, when a person commits that they will be faithful, this usually would include not engaging in these sort of activities.  Is the person that is involved in cybersex not happy or satisfied with their significant other?  This is an important question to consider. 

If cybersex is found going on in a relationship there are many things to consider.  Firstly, what made that person engage in it?  If it is physical needs that are not being met, then maybe the couple is not meant to be together.  In addition, the person into cybersex should take a moment to see if it is worth it to be doing this.  Either way, engaging in this just makes things more complicated for both people in the relationship.

I believe that people are affected from what they watch on television or on the Internet like pornography.  However, not only are the people influenced by what they watch but the porn stars themselves are too.  They have to live with exposing themselves for the rest of their lives.  People tend to have a misconception that all porn stars are not good people, yet that is infact not true.  Also, not everything that is shown that these actors/actresses do on TV have to be done in the viewers bedroom.

Another huge issue is whether or not the viewers watching are tunning in for either arousal, escapism or addiction.  When different personality types were tested to determine if there was a relation between agression and the the viewers it could show that there is one.  In addition, rape is perceived differently today then in past history.  Values have changed and the world continues to become more violent. 

Different types of people look for different things while watching pornography.  Consequences only come from one's own actions.  So infact, we make our destiny on how we deal with viewing pornography.  That is why there is still no clear relation between agression and violent porn.
